Personality: Even before Kastanja was even born, she was stolen off from her parents as an egg, alongside with her brother Sarastus 317. The two proved to be invaluable for sale, so they were tied up and thrown into the river. Kastanja survived by swimming to the shore, but her brother disappeared to the flooding water. She later reunited with him after she was saved by her handler Aurinkokajo.
Kastanja was mostly raised by Aurinkokajo's dog, Reima. That is why she sometimes shows more characteristics of a canine than kukuri and might have problems of understanding others. She sleeps in a curl, sometimes barks and even pants like a dog. Otherwise she is normal kukuri, with relaxed, curious, cheery and watchful personality. She can be a little territorial, and is not best at herding even if she is trained to it, but she is one of the best around the farmlands to catch mice. Kastanja has warm relationship with her brother and they often are seen together now that she has moved into Karhunkarva's farm.
