Personality: Alkahest is a well-traveled rook that has seen much and met many, yet he still maintains his curiosity and love of learning. However, he also stayed more cautious between his handler, Greyson, and himself, and is now experienced enough to rather accurately gage risks and reward where Greyson gets lost in the excitement.
Despite having had little contact with his kind for the majority of his youth, Alkahest has gathered enough experience to warm up easier to other Kukuris than he did in his earlier years and taps more easily into his charm, although he is still undeniably awkward and more introverted, albeit in a lovable way.
He’s very physical in his affections, more so the better he knows somebody, although he will gladly offer his fluffy tail for comfort to almost anyone.
Alkahest is an overall calm and kind Kukuri, a protector. He is willing to protect Greyson with his life, but his charge also extends to others, should they need it. Despite being peaceful by nature he is ready to fight to keep someone safe and as such has been in many battles over his lifetime.
Due to multiple assaults from humans the amber rook has grown wary of humans he doesn’t know and refuses to leave his handler’s side under any circumstances, acting uncharacteristically possessive and cold. The other person is considered a threat until proven innocent. It takes him way longer to warm up to any human than to another Kukuri and it can be considered an accomplishment to get him to tolerate a person around without constantly supervising Greyson.

Alkahest joined the fights when the Contamination took hold of the Carnival of Life’s champions. This caused his own contamination, and he roamed the evacuated Coliseum along with other spores for multiple weeks until he could be caught.
With his mind still in the hold of the malicious fungus, Alkahest attacked his handler and could stop himself only split seconds before hurting him. The incident, albeit not his fault, as well as the entirety of the contamination still hangs heavy over him.
As such his instinct to protect has only strengthened, as well as his resolve to do it at the cost of his own well-being. Darkness unsettles him now – it makes it all too easy to imagine glowing spots growing on his body.
